Montpelier Mansion is located in northern Prince George's County just outside the Laurel city limits and dates back to colonial times (it's reputed to be one of those places that can claim "George Washington slept here"). It's part of a group of historical facilities in the county that are available for rental for events such as weddings.
The interior rooms of the mansion aren't very large, but are sufficient for small receptions and wedding day preparations. The grounds, however, are very large, with several areas suitable for the ceremony and reception tents. The large "lawn" between the mansion and Route 197 is big enough for a crowd of several thousand people, while there are also smaller areas close to the mansion.
The grounds also act as home for an arts center in a barn-like structure.
